ST. CLOUD, Minn. - No. 9 St. Cloud State won four bouts by fall en route to defeating Southwest Minnesota State 37-9 Saturday night in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference wrestling in St. Cloud, Minn.
SCSU improves to 9-4 (1-0 NSIC), while SMSU drops to 1-2 (0-2 NSIC).
The Mustangs got its nine points via a forfeited bout by the Huskies at 141 pounds and after
Demond Carter charted a 5-0 decision over Jacob Roberts at 149 pounds in the dual's opening bout.
SCSU added a major decision victory to its four wins by fall.
It was the Mustangs' second loss to a nationally ranked opponent in as many days.
SMSU returns to action on Jan. 24 at the Central Missouri Duals.
