GAME NOTES (PDF)

THIS WEEK:
The Southwest Minnesota State University men's basketball team (13-10, 8-9 NSIC) returns home on Saturday, Feb. 20, to host No. 7-ranked and Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference leading Minnesota State University, Mankato (22-2, 15-2 NSIC) with tip-off slated for 8 p.m. at the R/A Facility on the SMSU campus.  The Mavericks also begin the week ranked No.2 in the latest NCAA Central Region rankings.
SMSU begins the week in sole possession of eighth place in the NSIC standings, one-half game behind seventh place Northern State and one full game behind sixth place University of Mary in a battle for seeding in the upcoming eight-team 2010 NSIC/Sanford Health Men's Basketball Tournament.  The Mustangs are also one-half game ahead of Wayne State and one full game ahead of Upper Iowa.
The Mustangs are looking to rebound after two losses last weekend, including a triple overtime defeat to Concordia on Saturday night.  The triple overtime game was the first for SMSU since the 1975-76 season and was also SMSU's second multi-overtime game this season.
Southwest Minnesota State will conclude its home season next Wednesday, Feb. 24, taking on Wayne State.

SENIOR NIGHT ON SATURDAY: SMSU will have one more home game this season versus Wayne State on Wednesday, Feb. 24, but SMSU will officially honor its five seniors prior to Saturday's game.  The five senior players being honored include: Kevin Andrews, Nick Dale, Jon DeRock, Andrew Peschong and DeAnthony Zanders.  Andrews, Dale and Peschong have played four seasons at SMSU and have a career record of 78-39.
