OWATANNA, Minn .- Upper Iowa snapped Southwest Minnesota State's two-match win-streak Sunday afternoon, defeating the Mustangs 6-3 in Owatanna, Minn.  

Upper Iowa moves to 5-0 (3-0 NSIC), while SMSU drops to 2-3 (0-2 NSIC).

SMSU jumped out to an early lead with wins from No.1 doubles partners Cailey Grupe and Trisha Baldwin (9-8, 7-5 tie-breaker) and No. 2 doubles partners Danielle Hildebrandt and Lissa Murakami (8-6).

Upper Iowa answered by taking the No. 3 doubles decision and continued to rally off wins in the next three singles matches, including a win by nationally ranked Anastasia Dabiza in No. 1 singles over Murakami. 

Baldwin recorded a 6-4, 6-4, win from the No. 4 position over Betsy Limburg. 

The Mustangs will be in St. Cloud, Minn., on Wednesday to take on Montana State Billings.
