FINAL RESULTS
FLORENCE, Ariz. - The Southwest Minnesota State women's golf team shot a second round team score of 308 on Thursday and finished second in the two-day, 36-hole Poston Butte Invite at Poston Butte G.C. in Florence, Ariz.. The Mustangs finished the event with a score of 631, nine shots behind champion Minnesota State (622). Jaymie Halvorson of Minnesota State took home medalist honors with a 6-over-par 150.
SMSU had four players shoot rounds of sub-80 on Thursday, with
KC Kane leading the way shooting an even-par 72 in the final round to finish with an 8-over-par 152, good for second place in the 34-player event.
Krista Weiszhaar carded a 6-over-par 78 in the second round and finished tied for sixth at 14-over-par (158).
Melissa Lackas (160, 9th),
Sarah Baukol (162, t11th) and
Stephanie Bruns (165, 15th) rounded out the Mustang team scores.
Haley Gudim (180, 28th) and
Katelyn Schwartz (197, 33rd) played as individuals.
SMSU will continue action on March 28-29 at the Wayne State Invite in Wayne, Neb.
