GAME 1 BOX SCORE
GAME 2 BOX SCORE

ST. PAUL, Minn. -
Concordia University, St. Paul used a walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh in game one and pushed across nine runs in game two to sweep Southwest Minnesota State 5-3 and 9-7 in a non-conference double header Friday in St. Paul.

CU improves to 12-6, while SMSU falls to 7-8.

CU's Abby Brundidge smacked a two-out, three-run homer in the bottom of the seventh to lift the Golden Bears to a 5-3 victory over SMSU in game one.

The Mustangs held a 3-2 lead heading into the bottom of the seventh inning—thanks to a two-run surge that gave SMSU its first lead of the game.

The Mustangs had trailed 2-1 heading into the seventh, but Britney Hallahan tied the game with a run-scoring single. Amanda Neumann gave SMSU the lead with another RBI single just moments later.

CU answered back with the rally in the seventh off of SMSU starting pitcher Ali Honken.

Honken worked a complete game, allowing eight hits and striking out eight batters.

Hallahan finished 3 for 4 with two RBIs to lead the Mustangs.

CU opened game two by pouring in five runs via four hits and a trio of walks off Mustang hurlers Cortney Heim and Chelsey Evans in the first inning.

SMSU, however, pushed in four runs in both the second and third innings to make it a one-run game.

In the second, Katie Turner singled to left field to score a pair of runs.

Amy Dreessen connected for her second home run of the season in the third to move the game 5-3, and Krista Steen singled three batters later to score Christine Borowiak and give the Mustangs a one-run difference to work from.

But a four-run Golden Bear surge in the top of the fourth inning gave the host squad back its comfortable lead.

The Mustangs threatened in the top of the fifth with three runs. Amanda Neumann drove in SMSU's first run of the inning with a sacrifice fly, while Kristin Braden and Turner drove in the other two with singles.

Both teams were scoreless for the sixth inning, and CU retired SMSU in order to clinch the victory.

Heim faced just five batters but took the loss, moving her to 4-3 on the season.  Evans worked 6.0 innings and allowed seven hits.

Turner was 2 for 3 with three RBIs.

SMSU will open conference play in a week when the Mustangs travel to Minnesota State, Mankato on Friday.
