ST. CLOUD, Minn.- The Southwest Minnesota State tennis team forced four match tie-breakers against MSU Moorhead on Sunday but were only able to capitalize on one, losing the contest 5-4
MSUM improves to 2-5 (2-2 NSIC), while the Mustangs drop to 2-5 (0-3 NSIC);
Angie Wiegmann was the only player from SMSU to win her tie-breaker match, defeating Ashley Taborsky 6-3, 2-6, 11-9. Danielle Hildebrandt also recorded a win over Kathryn Neubauer from the No. 2 singles spot, winning 6-1, 6-0.
The Mustangs came away with two wins in doubles competition. Cailey Grupe and Trisha Baldwin won their match over Kayla Huether and Neubauer 8-6. Hilldebrandt and Lissa Murakami also defeated Emily Delaney and Alyse Grelson 8-6.
The Mustangs will take on Gustavus on Saturday, March 20, at 9:30 a.m. in St. Peter, Minn.
