MARSHALL, Minn.,- The Southwest Minnesota State tennis team (6-7, 3-4 NSIC) swept Minnesota-Morris (1-4) in a 9-0 decision Friday afternoon at Legion Field.
The Mustangs were led in singles play by Baldwin who swept Armstrong 6-0, 6-0 from the No.4 spot.
Murakami took her first set easily from Friends, winning 6-1. She battled to take her second set 6-4 and win the match. Hildebrandt defeated Doan 6-0, 6-1, while Grupe dominated Chunkapura in a 6-1, 6-0 final. Wiegmann won her match over Dullinger, 6-3, 6-1.
Katie Carlson won the final singles match for the Mustangs over Rebecca Hanson 6-1, 6-0.
SMSU will continue a string of matches tomorrow when the Mustangs head to St. Joseph to take on St. Benedicts's at 11 a.m. The Mustangs will play Northern Sun Intercollegiate opponent Minnesota Duluth Sunday in St. Cloud at 10:30 a.m., and return home Monday for another NSIC match-up against Augustana at 4 p.m. at Legion Field.
