DULUTH, Minn. - Minnesota Duluth won all six singles matches and took two out of three doubles matches to down Southwest Minnesota State in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference tennis action on Friday night. The Bulldogs defeated SMSU 8-1 picking up their first win of the season and are now 1-5 overall and 1-2 in the NSIC while SMSU falls to 2-5, 2-3 NSIC.
Angie Wiegmann and
Kasey Uran accounted for SMSU's only win of the match picking up an 8-4 doubles victory over Anna Witty and Jessica Stensrud.
Trisha Baldwin forced a tiebreaker against Katie Bolf but eventually fell 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-6).
Southwest Minnesota State will contine conference action this afternoon taking on Winona State at the Baseline Tennis Center on the University of Minnesota Campus at 1 p.m.
