FIRST PITCH
The Southwest Minnesota State softball team (12-8 0-0 NSIC) is set to open the lid on the 2011 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference portion of its schedule on Saturday hosting Bemidji State (1-7, 0-0 NSIC) in a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. The Mustangs will then welcome Minnesota Duluth (11-9, 0-0 NSIC) for a doubleheader at noon on Sunday. Both series will be played on Mattke Field at the Regional Event Center at SMSU due to poor field conditions at the SMSU softball field.
