SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Southwest Minnesota State (3-11, 3-7 NSIC) lost two Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference tennis matches on Saturday in Sioux Falls. SMSU began the day with a 5-4 loss to Northern State (5-7, 2-6 NSIC) before falling 9-0 to Augustana College (14-2, 7-0 NSIC).

Northern State took two of three doubles matches jumping out to an early lead over SMSU. Kaitlyn Wright and Megan Gilbraith defeated SMSU's No. 1 doubles tandem Cailey Grupe and Trisha Baldwin 9-7. Bridget Henderson and Jamie Golden then defeated Angie Wiegmann and Kasey Uran 8-3 at No 2 doubles.

SMSU won the No. 3 doubles match by default. Wiegmann defeated Bridget Henderson 6-4, 6-0 in No. 3 singles. Kelsey Bourne and Mattison Peters each won their matches by default as Northern State would take a 5-4 victory over SMSU.

Augustana won all three doubles matches and all six singles matches to defeat Southwest Minnesota State 9-0.

SMSU will play its final regular season NSIC match tomorrow taking on Minnesota Duluth beginning at 11:30 a.m. at the Huether Tennis Centre in Sioux Falls.
