MARSHALL, Minn. - The Southwest Minnesota State University women's and men's cross country teams continue action this Saturday at the annual Caty's Run hosted by Minnesota State, Mankato at Land of Memories Park in Mankato.
The men's 4-mile (6,437-meters) race begins at 11 a.m., followed by the women's 4,000-meter race at 11:30 a.m.
The race is held each year in honor of former MSU runner Caty Delwiche.
The SMSU women's team is coming off a fifth place finish at the six-team Gale Woods Invite hosted by Crown College last Friday. AnnMarie Dykstra, running her first race for SMSU, led the team with a 38th place finish in the 6,000-meter race with a time of 28:15.
The SMSU men's team suffered several injuries and was not able to field a complete team at the Gale Woods Invite. Demond Carter was SMSU's highest finisher with a time of 31:55 to place 80th in the 8,000-meter race.
