MARSHALL, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State University tennis team (0-3) will begin Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action this weekend traveling to Bismarck, N.D. for three matches.
The Mustangs will open conference play against Augustana (2-1) on Saturday at 1 p.m. before taking on Montana State-Billings (0-5) in a non-conference dual at 4 p.m. SMSU returns to conference play on Sunday against the University of Mary (0-3, 0-3 NSIC) at 9 a.m.
SMSU finished 3-8 in conference matches in 2011, which was good for a ninth-place finish in the NSIC standings.
The Mustangs opened their season last weekend going 0-3 in non-conference matches against St. Thomas, St. Catherine's and Macalester College.
Charlie Kost is in his second season as the head coach of the SMSU tennis team.
