MARSHALL, Minn. - Southwest Minnesota State University head soccer coach TJ Buchholz announced Monday that Kylee Nolan, of Rapid City, S.D., has signed a letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic career at SMSU. 

Nolan prepped at Stevens High School for coach Troy Anderson and was a four-year letterwinner. She earned first team all-state honors in 2011 and was named all-state honorable mention in 2010 and 2011. Nolan was a member of three South Dakota State Championship teams in 2008, 2009 and 2010. She also earned three letters in track and field where she was a member of state championship teams in 2010 and 2011 and was a two-time all-conference honoree picking up all-state honors in 2010 and 2011. 

Nolan is the 14th member of the 2012 recruiting class for the SMSU soccer program.

"We are very excited about our 2012 recruiting class.  Our goal was to bring in a deep class for the next season and we feel like we did that in all positions,” said Buchholz.  “While we continued SMSU's strong tradition of getting great soccer players out of the Midwest, we also were able to expand our recruitment with landing several players from Southern California and Colorado.  We believe this recruiting class will be a strong part of our foundation for the next four years at SMSU. ”

Buchholz also stated that the program is expected to announce more signings in the next week or later this spring.

Southwest Minnesota State is an NCAA Division II school located in Marshall, Minn., and competes in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. SMSU finished the 2011 season with an overall record of 5-11-1, including a 4-8-1 mark in the NSIC, finishing 11th in the 14-team conference.
