MARSHALL, Minn. - The Southwest Minnesota State women's soccer team had two student-athletes named to the 2025 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® soccer team released on Tuesday. The selection and announcement were made by the CSC and recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Earning CSC Academic All-District® honors for the Mustangs include sophomore defender
Jayna Benson and senior forward
Brooke Wetterstrom.
Benson, an exercise science major from St. Cloud, Minn., played in all 18 games with 14 starts for the Mustangs.
Wetterstrom, a physical education major from Olathe, Kan., played in all 18 games and made 16 starts. She led the team with four goals, racked up a team-high 12 shots on goal and closed with a team-high eight points. It's the second time Wetterstrom has earned CSC Academic All-District honors.
