ST. PETER, Minn. – Minnesota State, Mankato (6-7, 4-1 NSIC) swept all nine matches on its way to a 9-0 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference women's tennis victory over Southwest Minnesota State (0-9, 0-4 NSIC) at the Swanson Tennis Center on the campus of Gustavus Adolphus on Sunday morning.
Angie Wiegmann and
Katie Kienitz lost a close decision at No. 1 doubles falling to MSU's Kathryn Gavin and Shealyn Bakke.
Kienitz and Wiegmann each lost 6-1, 6-1 in singles play while
Allison Niedert lost 6-2, 6-2 to Joey Bosch at No. 3 singles.
SMSU returns to action on Friday, March 23, taking on Minnesota, Crookston at 6:30 p.m. in St. Cloud, Minn.
