MARSHALL, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State tennis team (0-14, 0-8 NSIC) embarks on its final weekend of play with conference duals against Bemidji State (2-13, 2-6 NSIC) at 10 a.m. and Upper Iowa (5-10, 4-2 NSIC) at 5 p.m. at Gold's Gym in St. Cloud, Minn. on Saturday, before closing out the season at home against the University of Sioux Falls (1-9) at home on Sunday.
SMSU's home match against future NSIC-member Sioux Falls on Sunday marks the first home competition for the Mustang tennis program since the 2009 season.
SMSU and Bemidji State will meet for the 32nd time in a series that began during the 1980 season. SMSU is 27-4 all-time against BSU and has won seven straight matches against the Beavers. The Mustangs picked up a 5-4 win over Bemidji State last season in St. Cloud.
SMSU and Upper Iowa will match-up for the eighth time in a series that began during the 2007 season. SMSU is 1-6 all-time against the Peacocks, losing three straight.
The Mustangs will then close-out the season taking on Sioux Falls for the eighth time in school history. SMSU is 3-4 all-time against the Cougars. The two teams last met in 2010 with USF earning a 5-4 win over the Mustangs in Sioux Falls.
