KISSIMMEE, Fla. - Amy Dreessen drilled a two-out, walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the eighth inning to lead Southwest Minnesota State to a 6-5 victory over Ashland (Ohio) on Sunday morning.
SMSU losts its second game of the day to LIU Post 4-3 with LIUP scoring two runs in the sixth and one in the seventh for the victory.
SMSU is now 1-5 on the season following Sunday's games.
In the victory, Dreessen finished the game 3 for 4 with three RBIs to pace SMSU's 11-hit attack.

Emily Olson and Alyssee Luttman each collected two hits for SMSU.
Dreessen started SMSU's scoring with an RBI triple in the first inning to give SMSU a 1-0 lead, before Ashland scored three unearned runs in the second to build a 3-1 lead.
The Mustangs tied the game in the third inning on an RBI triple by Stoll and run-scoring single by Dreessen.
Ashland added a single run in the sixth and were three outs away from victory, but SMSU rallied in the seventh inning to send the game into extra innings.
With one out in the seventh, SMSU loaded the bases before
Morgan Peterson was hit by a pitch to tie the game at 4-4. A strikeout and ground out ended the threat sending the game into extra frames.
Using international tiebreaker rules, Ashland used a pair of sac bunts to take a 5-4 lead in the top of the eighth.
In the home half of the inning, SMSU once again loaded the bases with no outs before
Chelsey Rodenkirch walked to tie the game at 5-5. Following a pop out and ground out, Dreessen stepped to the plate and worked the count full, before coming through with the game-winning single.
Rachel Hoeppner (1-4) picked up the victory in relief tossing 3.2 innings, allowing two runs, one earned on one hit.
In the loss to LIU Post, SMSU snapped a 1-1 tie with two runs in the top of the sixth inning. Sam Goblirsch gave SMSU a 2-1 lead with an RBI single, before
Jennifer Johnson coaxed a bases loaded walk to give the Mustangs a 3-1 lead.
LIU Post answered back in the home half of the sixth with two runs to tie the game and then pushed across the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh. Hoeppner retired the first two batters before allowing three consecutive base hits that ended the game.
SMSU returns to action on Monday taking on LIU Post for a rematch beginning at 10 a.m. CDT, then will face Tiffin (Ohio) at 2 p.m. CDT.
