KISSIMMEE, Fla. - Amy Dreessen blasted a 3-run game-winning home run in the sixth inning to lift Southwest Minnesota State to a 4-2 victory over Wayne State (Mich.) on Friday. SMSU would defeat Ferris State (Mich.) 5-2 in the second game of the day.

In game one, Dreessen finished 2 for 3 with a single, home run and 3 RBI, the home run was Dreessen's 13th career home run and first of the season.

The Warriors would push across an unearned run in the second inning on a Morgan Peterson fielding error.

Shelbie Stoll got the Mustangs on the board in the fourth with a sacrifice fly to right field, Alysse Luttman scored on the tag. With first base open, the Warriors elected to pitch to Amy Dreessen and she would hit a line drive to left field but Catherine Rayos made a diving catch to get Wayne State out of the jam allowing just the one run.

SMSU only managed two hits through five innings but SMSU would get three hits in the sixth including Amy Dreessen's three-run game-winning home run to left center. Dreessen came up with two runners on with no out after Katelyn Kalkman and Shelbie Stoll began the inning with singles. The blast was Dreessen's first home run of the season and thirteenth of her career.

In the final game of the Rebel Spring Games versus Ferris State (Mich.), The Mustangs would do all damage in the first two innings as Chelsey Rodenkirch and Katelyn Kalkman started off SMSU's 4-run first inning with back-to-back singles. A Shelbie Stoll sacrifice bunt advanced the runners and Amy Dreessen filled the empty base with a walk. Morgan Peterson, Kailey Hanson and Jennifer Johnson would all get a RBI in their first inning at-bats as Peterson singled up the middle, Hanson hit a sacrifice fly and Johnson smashed a 2-run double to right field.

The Bulldogs could not find any offense the rest of the way as Groff and Hoeppner combined to shutout the Bulldogs through the final five frames of the game and SMSU held on to win 5-2 - its sixth straight win.
