FAYETTE, Iowa - The Southwest Minnesota State softball team was defeated 4-3 and 5-4 by Upper Iowa in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action on Sunday.

In game one, SMSU rallied with three runs in the sixth but could not complete the comeback.

The two losses was SMSU's fifth and sixth straight losses, dropping the Mustangs to 14-20 overall, 7-15 in the NSIC.
