PHOENIX, Ariz. – The Southwest Minnesota State University women's tennis team had its two-match winning streak snapped on Thursday with a 7-2 loss to Arizona Christian University.
The Firestorm, ranked No. 10 in the latest NAIA national rankings, improves to 14-0 on the season, while SMSU drops to 3-10 overall.
SMSU was swept in doubles play, but picked up two victories in singles competition.
Ashley Hoehne earned her team-leading seventh win of the season at No. 5 with a 6-0, 6-2 victory, while
Nicole McQueen picked up a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles. Hoehne is now 7-6 on the season.
Southwest Minnesota State concludes its spring trip on Friday with a match versus Paradise Valley Community College starting at 5:30 p.m. CDT.
