BROOKINGS, S.D. - The Southwest Minnesota State University women's and men's track teams set numerous records on Friday night at the South Dakota State D2 Open.
On the women's side,
Kim Shabino broke the school record in the 60-meter dash with a 7.92 mark and
Ellen Padmore more followed just behind with a time of 7.94. Shabino also broke the school record in the 200-meter dash as she took home first-place crossing the line at 25.73.
In 400-meter dash,
Ellen Padmore crossed the finish line at 59.83 to take second, while
Eisha Oden crossed at 1:00.83 to finish fifth.
Nikki Atwood broke the school record in the 600-meter finishing fifth with a time of 1:43.53 and
Macy Violett followed in fifth with a 1:44.47 time.
Hannah Palmeter broke the school record and grabbed third place in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 18:55.80.
The women's 4x400-meter relay broke the school record with a time of 4:03.78 and also took home first place. The relay is made up of
Sarah Mayfield,
Nikki Atwood,
Eisha Oden and
Ellen Padmore.
Rylee Armstrong found the top of the podium in the high jump with a 1.60m mark and third place in the long jump at 5.12m.
On the men's side,
Dallin Finley took fourth place in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.15 and
Ben Ryan followed in seventh at 7.25. Ryan also finished fifth in the 200-meter with a time of 22.88.
Zach Jones finished third in the 400-meter dash and the broke the school record crossing the line at 50.41. Another school mark was broken in 5,000 meters as
Evan Bonneson finished sixth with a time of 15:52.72.
In the 800-meter,
Chris Kveseth took home second place with a time of 1:57.50
The men's 4x400-meter relay grabbed first place with a 3:24.48 time. The relay is made up of
Matt Konrad,
Zach Jones,
Dallin Finley and
Chris Kveseth.
Zach Jones placed second in the long jump with a 6.44m jump.
Alex Weis finished second in the shot put with a 14.78m hurl and first in the weight throw with a 16.14m mark.
Jordan Flinn placed third with a throw of 15.04m.
