MANKATO, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State women's and men's track and field teams conclude the Minnesota State Open on Monday held at the Mark Schuck Outdoor Track and Field Complex.
Jacob Kunkel recorded a personal best 2.03m in the high jump to finish in second place.
Tucker Amberg earned second place in the triple jump at 13.29m.
Matthew Groebner closed with a time of 4:04.91 to earn third-place in the 1,500 meters.
Ole Taylor finished fourth in the discus with a toss of 43.06m and was third in the javelin at 49.63m.
Roel Palomo recorded a time of 1:59.70 in the 800 meters to finish in sixth place.
Chaden Carroll closed with a mark of 4.38m in the pole vault to finish sixth.
BT Teboh ran 21.71 in the 200 meters to close in eighth place.
The men's 4x100 relay team of
Brad Tang,
BT Teboh,
Bjorn Mattick and
Aidan Swenhaugen finished third at 42.45.
On Sunday,
Deekon Anvid finished with a toss of 50.04m in the discus to finish in fifth place, while
Jack Clark closed with a second-place throw of 49.53m in the javelin.
For the women's team,
Madison Marco ran 11:37.80 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase to finish in third place.
Ella Doble finished fourth in the 400 meters with a time of 57.69, while
Jada Backes also finished fourth in the 400-meter hurdles.
Kyra Kusnierek placed fifth in the 800 meters at 2:28.88.
Shealyn Tom and
Michelle Marquard both cleared 3.37m in the pole vault to finish fifth and sixth respectively.
Emily Lorentz recorded a sixth-place toss of 12.49m in the shot put.
Seely Stockmoe finished seventh in the hammer with a personal best 43.29m.
On Sunday, Lorentz finished sixth in the discus at 39.70m.
Zoe Sharp finished third in the javelin at 36.83m with
Logan Smidt in fourth place at 36.83m.
SMSU will next compete on Thursday at the CSB/SJU Invitational in Collegeville, Minn.
