DULUTH, Minn. - The Southwest Minnesota State University track & field teams concluded the 2026 season on Saturday competing in the third and final day of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Outdoor Championships held at Malosky Stadium on the campus of the University of Minnesota Duluth.
SMSU's men's team finished tied for 10th with 17 total team points, while the women's team finished 13th with seven points.
Minnesota State won both the men's and women's team championships.
Freshman Zoe Sharp scored five points for the Mustangs in the women's javelin throw with a personal-best 39.66, while Logan Smidt earned one point with a throw of 36.44m.
Ole Taylor earned five points in the men's javelin throw with a distance of 52.41m.
In the men's discus, Deekon Anvid earned three points with a sixth-place finish of 46.18m.
The men's 4x100m relay team, consisting of Brad Tang, Greg Schafer, Bjorn Mattick, and BT Teboh, finished seventh with a time of 42.23, earning two team points for the Mustangs.
Shealyn Tom recorded an eighth-place finish in the women's pole vault with a height of 3.56m earning one team point. Michelle Marquard finished 12th with a height of 3.41m.
Colton Johnson finished 10th in the men's triple jump with a distance of 13.56m. Tucker Amberg placed 13th with a jump of 13.43m.
In the men's 4x400m relay team consisting of Mattick, Dylan Schwarz, Roel Palomo, and Wyatt Lundstrom finished ninth with a time of 3.29.10.
The women's 4x400m relay team finished 11th with a time of 4.07.35. Ella Doble, Savannah Klockziem, Kyra Kusnierek, and Marissa Pabst competed in that event for the Mustangs.
Matthew Groebner finished the men's 1500m in 17th place with a time of 4.06.95.
