SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Southwest Minnesota State University women's tennis team suffered a 9-0 loss to Upper Iowa University in NSIC action on Sunday night at the Huether Family Match Pointe.
 
UIU improves to 5-1 overall, 4-0 in the NSIC, while SMSU falls to 0-6, 0-5 NSIC.
 
SMSU was swept in five of six singles matches, with Ashley Hoehne recording the lone set victory for SMSU at No. 4. Hoehne won the first set, 6-3, but dropped set two by a 6-2 margin. UIU's Kelly Jachymowski won the third set tiebreaker by a 10-3 score.
 
SMSU, which lost 6-3 to Winona State on Saturday, will look for its first win of the season next weekend, facing U-Mary on Saturday, Feb. 27, and MSU Moorhead on Sunday, Feb. 28. Both matches will take place at Courts Plus in Fargo, N.D.
