MANKATO, Minn. — The Southwest Minnesota State men's and women's track and field team competed at the Ted Nelson Classic Saturday afternoon.
Alex Weis recorded a NCAA provisional qualifying mark, while breaking the school record with a toss of 17.21 in the weight throw.
Will Hanson crossed the line in 8.20 in the 60-meter hurdles to finish second.
Jen Keohen finished second in the 5k run with a 20:14 time, while
Ben Broze recorded a time of 16:51 to finish fourth on the men's side.
Lucas Woods grabbed sixth place in the log jump, with a leap of 6.63m.
Jessie Janisch joined the school record books with a weight throw toss of 13.67m.
Southwest Minnesota State will compete at the North Dakota State Classic next weekend.
