ORLANDO, Fla. – The Southwest Minnesota State women's tennis team earned its first victory of the season today defeating the University of the Sciences (Pa.) 6-3 at Fort Gatlin Courts.

SMSU, 1-12 overall, earned two of three points in doubles play before winning four of six matches in singles action.

SMSU's No. 1 doubles team of
Gabby Tellijohn and
Crystal Overbaugh lost 8-5, but
Britney Thompson and
Ashley Hoehne earned an 8-3 win at No. 2 doubles. Maryia Krumm and
Madyson Brinkman picked up an 8-1 victory at No. 3 doubles to give SMSU a 2-1 lead.

Overbaugh picked up a 6-3, 7-5 win at No. 2 singles, while Hoehne earned a 6-4, 6-2 victory at No. 4 singles. Thompson recorded a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 5, while
Jenna Gannott notched a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 6 singles.
