BROOKINGS, S.D.- The Southwest Minnesota State men and women's indoor track and field teams had several podium finishes while competing at the SDSU Division II Invitational on the campus of South Dakota State University on Friday evening.
Jordan Flinn finished in first place in the men's weight throw with a distance of 17.43 m., while
Rhiannon Sears finished in eighth on the women's side with a final distance of 14.42 m.
Alex Weis finished in first in the men's shot put with a final distance of 15.81 m.
Kayla Jansky finished in third place in the women's 1,000 meter run with a finals time of 3:11.59.
Kim Shabino finished with a time of 8.02 in the women's 60 meter dash to finish in fifth place.
Zach Jones finished in fifth place in the men's long jump with a distance of 6.49 meters.
The Mustangs will return to competition next weekend when they travel to Mankato, Minn., to compete in the Minnesota State Open & Multi next Friday and Saturday.
