SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- The Southwest Minnesota State University women's tennis team dropped its NSIC opener on Friday night to NSIC powerhouse, Augustana University, by a score of 9-0.

Augustana has now won 79 consecutive NSIC matches.

SMSU lost in straight sets in all six singles matches, but took at least one game in seven of the 12 sets. Augustana earned 8-1, 8-1 and 8-3 victories in doubles play.

Southwest Minnesota State continues NSIC play tomorrow night facing the University of Sioux Falls in Sioux Falls starting at 6:30 p.m.
