ORLANDO, Fla. -- Southwest Minnesota State closed off its week long trip to Orlando with a 6-3 victory over St. Francis (Ill.) on Thursday afternoon. SMSU dropped a 7-2 decision earlier in the day to Cedarville.

SMSU's victory snapped an 11-match losing streak. "It was awesome to end the spring trip on a high note. The ladies fought hard all week long and it was a lot of fun to see them end with a win," head coach Adam Henning said. "Six matches in five days, with two doubleheaders is a lot of tennis and I am proud of the level that we competed at. We had a lot of close matches that don't necessarily show up in the box score."

SMSU had eight super tiebreakers over the week -- going just 2-6 in them. 

SMSU will return to action with a two matches in St. Peter, Minn., on Saturday, March 18, vs. Gustavus Adolphus and Minnesota State.
