MARSHALL, Minn.- Southwest Minnesota State women's basketball gets set to begin the home stretch of the 2017-18 regular season facing a pair of NSIC North opponents beginning with Minot State on Friday night at 6 p.m., followed by Saturday's Hawaiian Night game against U-Mary at 5 p.m.

- SMSU overcame a 19-point deficit to get within four at MSU Moorhead, but were unable to create offense down the stretch in a 66-51 loss to begin the weekend
- SMSU were then in a tight game with Northern State into the second half before the Wolves pulled away in a 79-62 loss for SMSU on Saturday
- The Mustangs shot just 37 percent as a team against MSU Moorhead as SMSU put up its fourth lowest point total of the season (51)
- SMSU shot 44 percent as a team against Northern State but went just 7 of 20 in the second half
