MINNETONKA, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State women's tennis team closed out its conference weekend on Saturday night with a 6-3 loss to Minnesota Duluth at Lifetime Fitness.
 
SMSU (5-11, 1-7 NSIC) picked up one point in doubles play and earned two victories in singles action.
 
UMD (7-3, 5-3 NSIC) won at both No. 1 and No. 2 doubles, before SMSU's No. 3 doubles team of 
Paige Janka and 
Gabby Potthoff recorded an 8-6 victory.
 
In singles play, SMSU's 
Hannah Starke earned a 6-4, 7-5 victory at No. 4 singles, while Janka picked up a 4-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-3) victory at No. 5.
 
Southwest Minnesota State returns to action on April 6-7 with matches versus Bemidji State and Minnesota Crookston in Lakeville, Minnesota.
