THIS WEEK'S GAMES
•The Southwest Minnesota State University softball team (10-17, 5-7 NSIC) continues Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play this week with six scheduled games.
•SMSU opens the stretch of games on Wednesday taking on Augustana University (26-8, 8-2 NSIC) with a doubleheader starting at 3 p.m. at Bowden Field in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
•This weekend, SMSU is scheduled to host Minot State (19-14, 6-6 NSIC) on Saturday and the University of Mary (11-12, 2-8 NSIC) on Sunday. A decision on where those games will take place will be determined in the next two days due to poor weather and field conditions.
•SMSU begins the week in 10
th place in the NSIC, while Augustana is tied for second.

SMSU PICKED EIGHTH IN NSIC POLL
•Southwest Minnesota State University was picked to finish eighth in the NSIC Preseason Coaches' Poll.
• SMSU freshman,
Bailey Johnson, and junior pitcher,
Athena Golling, were named "Players to Watch" in the conference this season.
•Winona State was chosen as the preseason favorite.
•The top 10 teams in the final NSIC standings qualify for the NSIC Tournament in Sioux Falls on May 3-5.
MUSTANG SOFTBALL HISTORY
•Southwest Minnesota State is in its 47th season of softball and has an all-time record of 924-858-1 in 1,783 games.
•SMSU won conference championships in 1985, 1986, 1993, 1994, 1999, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and won NSIC tournament championships in 1998 and 2007.
•SMSU made NCAA Tournament appearances in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009.
