MARSHALL, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State women's tennis team returns to action on Friday and Saturday with a pair of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference matches in Lakeville, Minnesota.
On Friday, SMSU (5-11, 1-7 NSIC) will face Bemidji State (7-4, 5-4 NSIC) at 6 p.m. and then close the weekend on Saturday with a 4 p.m. match versus Minnesota Crookston (0-11, 0-9 NSIC). Both matches will be held at Lifetime Fitness.
SMSU leads the all-time series versus BSU, 28-9, but BSU has won the last four meetings. SMSU is 12-2 all-time versus UMC, including winning the past four matches.
Cora Delich and
Hannah Starke have both recorded a team-high six victories in singles play this season. Delich has compiled a 6-9 record at No. 2, while Starke is 4-3 at No. 4 and 2-5 at No. 3.
Paige Janka has a team-leading nine wins in doubles play, including 6-3 at No. 3 and 3-4 at No. 2.
SMSU last played on March 24, dropping a 6-3 match versus Minnesota Duluth.
