MARSHALL, Minn. - The Southwest Minnesota State University women's tennis team opens the 2019 spring season with three matches this Friday and Saturday at the Stoney Creek Hotel Classic hosted by Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, Mo.
SMSU, which finished 4-0 during the fall portion of its 2018-19 schedule, will take on Truman State University (Mo.) on Friday starting at 11:45 a.m., before closing the day with a 3 p.m. match versus Newman University (Kan.)
SMSU closes play on Saturday with a 7 a.m. match versus Missouri Western State. All three matches will take place at the Genesis Health Club.
Sophomore
Cora Delich led SMSU during the fall season with a 6-1 record at No. 1 singles. Junior
Hannah Starke and sophomore
Gabby Potthoff both recorded four victories during the fall season. Delich and Potthoff also combined to win six doubles matches during the fall season.
