BURNSVILLE, Minn. – Southwest Minnesota State University soccer player, Alli Miskowiec, was named NSIC Offensive Player of the Week by the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference on Monday afternoon for the second consecutive week, following another big performance in a shutout weekend of Winona State and Upper Iowa.
Miskowiec, a senior from Andover, Minn., and a graduate of Coon Rapids, led the Mustangs to a 2-0 weekend, with two goals and two assists in the 4-0 victory over Upper Iowa on Sunday.
This is Miskowiec's third time receiving the league's honor and for the second consecutive week.
Miskowiec's goals were her ninth and tenth on the season and now ranks fourth in SMSU history with goals scored in her career with 24
Miskowiec's first goal put the Mustangs on the board in the 29th minute, then assisted the goal of Abbey Hoisington in the 34th minute, and the goal of Erin Fisher in the 57th minute, before scoring her second goal in the 82nd minute
With the victory, SMSU clinches a spot in the eight-team NSIC Tournament, which begins on Nov. 13. It will be SMSU's first appearance in the tournament since 2015.
Southwest Minnesota State, 10-6 overall, 8-6 NSIC, plays the final game of the regular season at the Schwan Regional Event Center on Friday at 5 p.m., hosting Sioux Falls.
