SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Southwest Minnesota State University women's tennis team dropped a 5-2 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference match on Saturday night to the University of Sioux Falls at Huether Family Match Pointe.

USF (6-8, 5-5 NSIC) picked up the doubles point by winning two of the three matches. SMSU's No. 3 team of
Gabby Potthoff and
Hanna Himmelman won 7-6, while SMSU's No. 1 team of
Paige Janka and
Fatima Murphy along with the No. 2 team of
Hannah Starke and
Cora Delich both lost by scores of 7-5.

SMSU (13-10, 3-7 NSIC) won two singles matches as Murphy earned a 6-1, 7-6 win at No. 2, while
Daniela Flores picked up a 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 4.

Southwest Minnesota State will look to secure an NSIC Tournament berth on Sunday morning as it concludes the regular season with an 8:30 match versus Augustana at Great Life Woodlake Athletic Club in Sioux Falls. If SMSU loses, it will need help in the next week to earn the tournament's No. 8 seed.
