MARSHALL, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State University track & field program held the Mustang Twilight meet on Wednesday at the Marshall Regional Track & Field Complex.
Athletes from SMSU, Sioux Falls, Minnesota State, Valley City and South Dakota State competed in today's meet which was added last month after the two-day Mustang Invite was canceled due to poor weather in late March.
SMSU's
Ashlyn Jones took home first place in both the women's 100 meters (12.43) and 200 meters (27.15).
Emily Gillingham ran 1:03.70 to take home first place in the 400 meters while
Kayla Jansky won the 800 meters at 2:21.61.
Rebecca Manteuffel placed second in the discus (50.45m) and fourth in the shot put (12.54m).
Norah King finished fourth in the javelin (31.92m) while earning a fifth place finish in the discus (42.34m.).
For the SMSU men's team, Quadri Busari earned first place in both the 100 meters (10.80) and 200 meters (22.54).
Adarius Gallon won the long jump at 6.47m, while Connor Wigand finished second in the shot put with a throw of 14.90m.
Southwest Minnesota State returns to action this Friday and Saturday at the Dakota Relays at Howard Wood Field in Sioux Falls, S.D.
