WAYNE, Neb. – The Southwest Minnesota State women's and men's track & field squads opened the 2026 portion of its indoor season on Saturday competing at the Wayne State NCAA Showdown inside the WSC Dome.
For the men's team,
Cody Evers placed third in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.63.
Peda Zeba finished with a mark of 14.04m in the triple jump to finish third overall.
BT Teboh earned fifth-place in the long jump with a mark of 6.61m.
Josh Coulby placed sixth in the shot-put closing at 14.21m.
Deekon Anvid recorded a throw of 16.30m in the weight throw to place seventh out of nearly 30 athletes.
On the women's side,
Emily Lorentz finished sixth (15.73m) while teammate
Seely Stockmoe (14.85m) placed 10
th in the weight throw.
Shealyn Tom cleared 3.27m in the pole vault to register a sixth-place finish.
SMSU continues its season on Jan. 30-31 at the Minnesota State Mark Schuck Open & Multi in Mankato.
