COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State women's and men's track & field teams continued a busy week on Thursday with a strong showing, including setting one team record, competing at the CSB/SJU Invitational held at Clemens Stadium.
The SMSU women's 4x100 relay team of
Michelle Marquard,
Tavashia Hill,
Savannah Klockziem and
Ella Doble highlighted the day with a school record time of 47.99 to finish second. The previous record was 48.10 set last season.
Doble also captured first place in the 100 meters with a personal best time of 12.46.
Christine Sleeter cleared 1.58m to win the high jump, while
Elizabeth Heinen finished fourth with a personal best 1.53m.
Emily Lorentz placed second in the shot put with a season best toss of 12.80m.
Allison Watts ran 15.56 to finish third in the 100-meter hurdles.
Marquard cleared 3.40m in the indoor pole vault to finish third.
Zoe Sharp and
Logan Smidt finished fifth and sixth respectively with tosses of 35.75m and 35.02m.
Peyton Owens earned fifth place in the triple jump with a distance of 10.45m.
Madison Marco finished sixth in the 1500 meters crossing the line at 4:57.03.
Kyra Kusnierek closed with a time of 2:25.75 in the 800 meters to finish sixth, while
Marissa Pabst finished eighth at 2:28.88.
On the men's side,
Colton Johnson earned first place in the triple jump with a mark of 13.79m, while teammate
Tucker Amberg finished second with a season best mark of 13.29m.
Johnson also finished with a mark of 7.21m in the long jump to earn second place.
BT Teboh finished second in the 100 meters with a time of 11.14.
Logan Roelofs recorded a personal best time of 16:39.82 to finish second in the 5000 meters.
Jacob Kunkel earned a second-place finish in the indoor high jump clearing 2.00m with Teboh placing fourth at 6.87.
Cody Evers ran 15.88 to finish second in the 110-meter hurdles with
Kyle Erickson placing fourth at 16.63.
Ole Taylor placed second in the javelin with a throw of 49.63m.
Deekon Anvid recorded a second-place toss of 48.80m in the discus and was sixth in the hammer at 51.44m.
Josh Coulby finished seventh in the shot put at 15.34m with Taylor in ninth place at 13.55m.
Musa Sanneh earned eighth-place in the 200 meters with a time of 23.35 and was also eighth in the 400 meters with a personal best 50.84.
The 4x100 relay team consisting of Teboh,
Dylan Schwarz,
Brad Tang and
Bjorn Mattick recorded a time of 42.28 to place second.
SMSU continues action on April 23-25 with athletes competing at both the Drake Relays and the Simpson College Kip Janvrin Open.
