MARSHALL, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State wrestling team (3-6, 2-4 NSIC) fell to No. 17 Minnesota State (7-1, 3-0 NSIC), 31-8, on Thursday night in the PE Gym. 
 
SMSU claimed two bout victories in the dual, the first a win by tech fall at 133 as Jackson Stauffacher defeated MSU's Cole Gille. 
 
At 174, Hayden Voxland went on to earn a 6-5 decision victory over reigning NSIC Wrestler of the Week and nationally-ranked No. 10 Zach Johnston. 
 
MSU's had three three ranked wrestlers and only two earned wins as MSU's Kyle Rathman, ranked No. 2, earned a 19-6 major decision victory over Robert Shields and Louie Sanders, ranked No. 9 at 141, earned an 11-1 major decision victory over Justin Sampson. 
 
Southwest Minnesota State hosts No. 23 Minot State on Friday at 7 p.m. and UMary on Saturday at 3 p.m., for the final conference weekend of the season.
