HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – The Southwest Minnesota State women's golf team concluded play at the Central Region Preview on Monday shooting a 46-over-par 334 to close with an 84-over 660 and earn a 19th place finish. The tournament, featuring many of the top teams in the NCAA Central Region, was held at the par 72, 5,948-yard Hot Springs Country Club Park Course.
Central Missouri won the team title with a 17-over 593, winning by two shots over Arkansas Tech. Jacqueline Klemm from Arkansas Tech and Chiara Sturaro from Arkansas-Monticello each earned medalist honors shooting even-par scores of 144.
Sally Gallagher shot SMSU's low-round on Monday with a 9-over 81, which included 11 pars and finished tied for 61
st overall at 17-over 161.
Jacqueline Gossen, who shot the Mustangs' low-round of 7-over 79 on Monday, carded a 12-over 84 on Monday with one birdie and nine pars and placed tied for 69
th at 19-over 163.
Lauryn Driscoll had seven pars on Monday and finished with a score of 13-over 85 to earn a 79
th place finish at 22-over 166.
Ashley Trongard had a pair of birdies and six pars on Monday to shoot a 12-over 84 to finish 86
th overall at 26-over 170.
Anneke Weg closed Monday with seven pars on her way to a 15-over 87 and a tie for 90
th overall at 31-over 175.
Southwest Minnesota State concludes the fall season next Monday and Tuesday at the Midwest Classic Invite hosted by the University of Central Missouri and played at Mules National Golf Club in Warrensburg.
