AVONDALE, Ariz. – The Southwest Minnesota State University women's golf team had six of the top seven scores, shooting a 28-over-par 316, to cruise to the team title of the four-team SMSU Challenge held at Coldwater Golf Club on Thursday.
SMSU won the title by 31 strokes over Bemidji State (347), followed by Minnesota Crookston (353) and MSU Moorhead (355).

Sally Gallagher earned medalist honors firing a 4-over 76, while teammate
Courtni Frank finished in second place at 5-over 77.
Gallagher, named the NSIC Golfer of the Week on Wednesday, finished her round on Thursday with two birdies and 11 pars, while Frank recorded one birdie and 10 pars.
The Mustangs'
Jacqueline Gossen had one birdie and 10 pars to finish third overall at 8-over 80, while finishing one stroke behind was SMSU's
Ashley Trongard, who registered one birdie and 10 pars on her way to a fourth place 9-over 81.
Anneke Weg and
Sydney Noel, both playing as individuals for the Mustangs, tied for fifth overall with scores of 11-over 83. Weg finished the round with nine pars, while Noel had a birdie along with seven pars in recording her best career round.
Danielle Podoll finished 15
th overall with a 17-over 89 with a pair of birdies and four pars to round out SMSU's team play.
Lauryn Driscoll, also playing as an individual for the Mustangs, placed 19
th at 19-over 91, which included seven pars.
SMSU will return to action on April 11-12 at the Wayne State College Classic at the Wayne Country Club.
