SMSU tennis begins fall season this weekend hosting three matches

MARSHALL, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State University women's tennis team opens its 2022-23 season this Friday through Sunday hosting several matches at Marshall High School.
 
SMSU head coach Jon Parker, beginning his fourth season, has eight players on the fall roster including six returning letter winners.
 
SMSU opens the weekend on Friday taking on MSU Moorhead starting at 1 p.m. On Saturday, SMSU will face Nebraska-Kearney at 9 a.m. and will conclude the three-day stretch hosting Minnesota State on Sunday starting at 1 p.m.
 
Also on Saturday, Nebraska-Kearney will play MSU Moorhead at 1 p.m., while on Sunday, Nebraska-Kearney and Minnesota State will play at 9 a.m.
 
SMSU is coming off one of its most successful seasons in nearly 15 years last spring, setting a program single-season win record at the Division II level with 17 victories. The Mustangs finished 17-11 overall and advanced to the semifinals of the NSIC Tournament for the second straight season.
