MANKATO, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State University women's and men's track & concluded the Minnesota State Mark Schuck Open and Multi on Saturday with one school record, one first-place finish and several other high place winners.
SMSU closed the two-day meet setting four school records.
On Saturday,
Macie Langstraat led the women's team running 3:04.45 to finish third in the 1,000-meters and breaking her previous school record of 3:05.59 set last season.
Nadia Sanford earned a second-place finish in the shot put a toss of 12.76m.
Sierra Clifford placed third in the 400-meters with a time of 58.90. Clifford on Friday set a school record in the 500-meters at 1:19.69.
Kyra Kusnierek picked-up a third-place time in the 600-meters at 1:45.41.
Rainbow Stands and
Christine Sleeter both cleared 1.56m in the high jump to tie for fourth place.
For the SMSU men's team,
Tyler Smith, who won the 500-meters on Friday with a school record 1:07.54, captured another first-place finish on Saturday with a 50.34 time in the 400-meters.
Hunter Smith cleared 4.37m in the pole vault to place fourth overall.
Peda Zeba finished with a mark of 13.59m in the triple jump to place fourth, while
Tyler Nebelung earned a third-place finish in the weight throw with a mark of 17.13m.
SMSU returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 3, at the Dakota Wesleyan Alumni Invite in Mitchell, S.D.
