MARYVILLE, Mo. – The Southwest Minnesota State women's golf team returned to action on Monday shooting a 48-over 336 in the first round of the Midwest Classic played at the par 72 Mozingo Lake Golf Course.
SMSU sits in 11
th place in the 12-team tournament with the final round starting on Tuesday at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start.
Central Missouri leads the tournament with a 10-over 298, while UCM's Libby Green is the individual leader following a 6-under 66.
Mallory Uselman had one birdie and 10 pars on Monday to pace the Mustangs with an 8-over 80 and is currently tied for 17
th place.
Meghan Pundsack and
Danielle Podoll are both tied for 39
th following scores of 12-over 84. Pundsack recorded three birdies and four pars, while Podoll closed with eight pars.
Isabella Jacobs is tied for 54
th place following a 16-over 88 closing with one birdie and six pars, while
Berkley Steffen rounded out SMSU's team play with a 20-over 92 after making two birdies and two pars to sit in a tie for 61
st.
SMSU had three play as individuals on Monday with
Natalie Appel shooting a 22-over 94,
Allie Nedved shooting a 24-over 96, while
Roni Hook shooting a 32-over 104.
