MARSHALL, Minn. - The Southwest Minnesota State women's soccer team had five student-athletes named to the 2024 CSC Academic All-District soccer team released on Tuesday. The selection and announcement were made by the College Sport Communicators, formally CoSIDA, and recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Rachel Hicks, an exercise science major from Rexburg, Idaho., started in 13 games in net for the Mustangs. She recorded 115 saves, tallied two shutouts and played a total of 1,170 minutes. This is Hicks's first time earning the honor.
Dare Kroeten, an English major from St. Louis Park, Minn., started in 16 games for SMSU. She tallied one goal, a team-high two assists and played 1,053 minutes for the Mustangs. This is Kroeten's first time earning the honor.
Haley Mason, a pre-med and psychology major from Chippewa Falls, Wis., started in all 18 matches for the Mustangs. Mason earned All-NSIC second team honors for the second consecutive season after leading the Mustangs with four goals and 19 shots on goal while playing 1,162 minutes. Mason was an Academic All-District team member last season.
Selena Prolic, a social work major from Milwaukee, Wis., started in 17 games for the Mustangs. She led the team in most minutes played with 1,282 minutes. She recorded one goal and one assist with 12 shots on goal. This is Prolic's first time earning the honor.
Brooke Wetterstrom, a physical education major from Olathe, Kan., started in 12 games for SMSU. She tallied 14 shots on goal while playing 1,091 minutes. This is Wetterstrom's first time earning this honor.
