LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. – The Southwest Minnesota State women's golf team opened its spring season on Monday shooting a 43-over-par 331 in the first round of the 12-team SMSU Spring Invitational held at Wigwam Red Course.
Western New Mexico is the first round team leader carding a score of 10-over 298 and holds a seven-shot advantage over Missouri Western State.
Jacqueline Gossen led the Mustangs with a 6-over 78 racking up 12 pars and six bogeys to sit in a tie for 17
th place in the 74-player field.
Meghan Pundsack finished with an 11-over 83 with one birdie and six pars and is currently in a tied for 34
th.
Danielle Podoll is tied for 37
th with a 12-over 84,
Ashley Trongard is tied for 47
th with a 14-over 86, while
Isabella Jacobs shot a 20-over 92.
Roni Hook played as an individual and shot a 26-over 98.
Brooklyn Maes from Western New Mexico is the individual leader following an even-par 72.
The final round begins on Tuesday with tee times starting at 11 a.m. CST
