SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Southwest Minnesota State women's golf team opened play at the Augustana Spring Invitational on Monday shooting a 72-over-par 362 and is in ninth place at the 10-team tournament played at Elmwood Golf Course.
The final round begins on Tuesday with a 10 a.m. shotgun start.
Isabella Jacobs was one of two Mustangs to break 90 on Monday shooting a team-low 14-over 86 recording four pars, while
Ashley Trongard made five pars on her way to carding a 17-over 89. Jacobs is tied for 20
th in the 64-player field with Trongard in a tied for 32
nd.
Danielle Podoll shot a 21-over 93 making four pars, while
Berkley Steffen and
Jacqueline Gossen both shot rounds of 22-over 94 with both recording four pars.
Meghan Pundsack and
Roni Hook both played as individuals shooting rounds of 23-over 95 and 29-over 101 respectively.
Augustana is the first round leader with a score of 19-over 307, with Sioux Falls and Concordia-St. Paul tied for second place at 46-over 334. Lauren Tims from Augustana is the individual leader following a round of 1-over 73.
