LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. – The Southwest Minnesota State women's golf shot a 36-hole score of 86-over-par 658 to finish seventh at the 12-team SMSU Classic played Monday and Tuesday at the par-70 Wigwam Resort Blue Course.
Westminster (Utah) won the team title with a score of 78-over 638 (310-328), finishing two strokes ahead of Minnesota State (316-324). Anaka Lysne from Minnesota Crookston earned medalist honors with a score of 13-over 153.
SMSU shot a team score of 320 on Monday and closed with a 338 on Tuesday.
Danielle Podoll led the Mustangs finishing tied for 13
th at 20-over 160 with rounds of 79 and 81.
Mallory Uselman tied for 41
st at 27-over 167 carding scores of 83 and 84.
Berkley Steffen shot rounds of 80 and 88 to finish tied for 45
th at 28-over 168.
Isabella Jacobs finished with rounds of 78 and 93 to tie for 55
th at 31-over 171, while
Meghan Pundsack placed 57
th at 32-over 172.
Ellie Krueger led SMSU individuals finishing in 64
th at 40-over 180 (93-87).
Natalie Appel finished 66
th at 46-over 186 (93-93),
Allie Nedved was 67
th at 47-over 187 (86-101), while
Roni Hook shot 48-over 188 (89-99) to finish 70
th.
SMSU hosted three tournaments over the past nine days in Arizona and will now return north to continue its spring season on April 7-8 at the Augustana Invitational at Elmwood Golf Course in Sioux Falls, S.D.
