SMITHVILLE, Mo. – The Southwest Minnesota State University women's golf team moved up one spot on Saturday and sits in eighth place following two rounds of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championship played at the par-72, 5,853-yard, Paradise Pointe - Outlaw Course.
SMSU shot a 39-over 327 on Saturday and has a two-round total 88-over 664.
Danielle Podoll and
Meghan Pundsack shot SMSU's low rounds on Saturday with scores of 9-over 81. Podoll had one birdie and eight pars, while Pundsack recorded 11 pars.
Isabella Jacobs shot a 10-over 82 in round two with one birdie and eight pars, while
Mallory Uselman had two birdies and seven pars on her was to an 11-over 83.
Berkley Steffen had five pars on Saturday and finished with a 13-over 85.
Podoll is 29
th overall at 20-over 164 with Uselman in a tied for 30
th at 21-over 165. Jacobs is tied for 33
rd at 22-over 166, Pundsack is 40
th at 26-over 170, while Steffen is 43
rd at 29-over 173.
Minnesota State is the leader following two rounds at 29-over 605 and holds an 18-shot lead over Augustana. Emerson Garlie from MSU is the individual leader with at 1-over 145.
The final round on Sunday begins with a shotgun start at 9 a.m.
